Andon Labs has released Pion, an agent designed to autonomously operate any company.
Pion evolved from Andon's exploration of AI systems' abilities to autonomously acquire resources. Initially tested through simulations like Vending-Bench, which assessed how well language models could manage a vending machine business, Pion has since been deployed in real-world scenarios, including vending machines, a store, and a cafe. The Vending-Bench simulation demonstrated rapid progress, with models like Claude Opus 4 surpassing human benchmarks, indicating significant advancements in AI capabilities without reaching a plateau.
