The U.S. government has permitted Anthropic to release its powerful Claude Mythos 5 AI model to over 100 trusted U.S. organizations, including major companies and government agencies.
This decision marks a significant de-escalation in tensions following the Trump Administration's previous export controls on Mythos, which also affected its counterpart, Fable 5. The release comes after assurances of safeguards and collaborative efforts between Anthropic and the government on protocols and standards. The status of Fable 5 remains uncertain, though discussions continue regarding its potential release.

It's interesting that Fable 5 is still in limbo. Wonder what specific concerns are holding it back?
I don't see how releasing AI models to just 100 organizations is a 'significant de-escalation'.
