Anthropic has launched the Claude Frontier Academy, investing $100 million to train 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027 to address the AI talent gap in enterprises.
The Academy's first initiative, the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency, uses a hands-on training model similar to medical residencies. Engineers from companies like Accenture and Deloitte are part of the initial cohorts, learning directly from practitioners and working on realistic AI projects. Each nominated engineer will lead a Claude project upon returning to their organization, focusing on transforming business processes and developing new services.

Great to see a focus on practical, hands-on training. The residency model should help bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.
Interesting approach, but $100 million for 10,000 engineers seems like a tight budget. Hope they can maintain quality training.
