A comparison was conducted between Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, where each AI directed a music video using a set budget and tools.
Both models were tasked with creating a music video for "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, utilizing a $25 and $100 budget across four runs. Each model autonomously researched video models, generated clips, and edited using ffmpeg. The process involved logging every tool call and decision made by the models. Once the budget was depleted, paid generation ceased, but editing could continue. The project is open source for further exploration.

I've used ffmpeg for video editing before, but I'm curious how effectively these models leverage it autonomously.
The note says 'directed a music video' but I wonder about the quality of the final output with such limited resources.
