Apple launched the M6 chip in the new Mac mini and the M5 Ultra in the new Mac Studio, marking a significant advancement in performance and AI compute capabilities.
The M6 chip, Apple's first 2-nanometer chip, features a 12-core CPU and GPU, a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, and up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. The M5 Ultra, with its quad-die architecture using UltraFusion technology, includes a 36-core CPU and an 80-core GPU, offering 1.2TB/s of unified memory bandwidth, which is 50% more than the M3 Ultra.

The move to 2nm with the M6 chip is impressive. Can't wait to see how it performs in real-world tasks.
The M5 Ultra's 1.2TB/s memory bandwidth sounds great, but how does it actually compare to the M6 in AI tasks?
